The Nisichawayasihk Nihitho Heritage, Language Culture (NNHLC) is looking to fill the position of Digitizer.
Overall, the Digitizer is responsible and accountable to Elvis Thomas, Director of Nisichawayasihk Nihitho Heritage Language Culture (NNHLC) for providing support services for the Nisichawayasi Nehetho Culture and Education Authority Inc. (NNCEA)Nisichawayasihk Nihitho Heritage Language Culture (NNHLC)
Duties:
The Digitizer handles various duties of media production, including recording and editing, that can support the education of the Asiniskaw ithiniwak language, culture and history, including:
- Preparing, maintaining and organizing files, records, and documents in digital and physical formats for easy access and retrieval.
- Video/audio production , script writing, interviewing, videography, utilizing lighting and audio techniques and editing content.
- Creating/editing content using the Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Bridge, Adobe Premiere Rush, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Audition, Adobe Creative Suite and the applicable Affinity and Canva applications.
- DSLR camera still image and video transfer for file sharing and streaming as well as audio captioning.
- Capture video and still photography content that is produced/recorded in remote locations using production techniques including image composition, lighting and editing
- Editing of large raw photo images for file archiving, sharing and streaming.
- Assist with storytelling (story boarding) with ability to translate into compelling script and visual images.
- Ensuring confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive information, company records, and documents.
- Develop materials such as demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, reference works, etc.
- Carries out special projects and related duties as assigned.
Skills required:
- Speaking/understanding Asiniskaw Ithiniwak (NCN) dialect would be an asset.
- Must have/willing to learn culturally competent skills in Asiniskaw Ithiniwak culture.
- Have strong technology skills required (computer, typing, etc.), PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe, Affinity and Canva programs.
- Research skills will be considered an asset.
- Strong videography skills.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to maintain video and photo libraries.
- Must be able to diligently apply a strong work ethic in the workplace and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to provide weekly updates on work and tasks completed.
- Ability to plan, coordinate and expediate work projects.
- Ability to prioritize and manage numerous simultaneous demands.
- Ability to communicate with others verbally and in writing.
- Minimum Grade 12 education.
- A valid Manitoba driver’s license would be considered an asset.
