Information Technology

NNCEA has a variety of different technological resources within our schools consisting of fibre internet, smart boards, laptops, and more. NNCEA uses Power Schools as our Student Information System for attendance, report cards, and more. NNCEA Information Technology has 5 employees who oversee this program:

Our IT team oversees the day to day operations of our system which consists of troubleshooting technology requests such as computers, email, internet and network connections and more. Our department also oversees our Power School implementation and other needs such as security systems in our schools.

Maintenance

Skid Steers

Our maintenance department consists of 4 employees who oversee the general repairs and maintenance of our Education System. Our maintenance team completes day to day tasks within our system and some projects. Some of the day to day tasks include garbage removal , snow removal, general plumbing and carpentry, and more. The maintenance team receives requests from staff regarding our schools and other facilities. Our maintenance team operates a variety of assets such as our skid steers, lawn mowers, dump truck, and more. NNCEA has the following facilities:

  • 1 Maintenance Garage

Transportation

School Buses

Our transportation team consists of 6 full time bus drivers, 1 supervisor, 1 Heavy Duty mechanic, and 1 Heavy Duty Apprentice. Our team transports all students to school on a daily basis. The Transportation Department also assists with several after school and weekend programs that the school facilitates. Our system currently has five full size 72 passenger buses, one 42 passenger bus, and one 12 passenger bus. The number to reach our bus garage is 204-484-2919.

Custodial

Our custodial team consists of 19 employees who service both of our schools and our Administrative office. Both of our schools have a day time crew and a night time crew to maintain the cleanliness of our buildings!

Inclusive Education

Jordan's Principle

Our Inclusive Education team oversees the implementation of our Special Education program for both schools. Our elementary school has 4 resource teachers, 1 cultural counsellor, 1 guidance counsellor, and 1 Special Education Coordinator. Our High School has 1 guidance counsellor, 1 social worker, and 3 resource teachers. NNCEA also has an occupational therapist and a certified counsellor which services both schools. NNCEA has over 50 educational assistants who play a variety of roles in our schools such as: classroom support, one-on-one support, sensory room support, levelled literacy support, and more.

NNCEA also collaborates with Jordans Principle of Nisichawayasihk to implement a variety of different supports for our students and community.
