Nisichawayasi Nehetho Culture and Education Authority (NNCEA) is home to two schools consisting of a Nursery to Grade 6 school and a Grades 7 to 12 school. Both of our schools offer a variety of different programs such as Life Skills, Land Based/Cultural Exploration, Cosmetology, Visual Arts, Music, Culinary Arts, and more! Our High School is newly constructed as of April 2022 and offers state of the art amenities and resources. Both of our schools offer after school programs for both staff and students weekly. Cultural activities for our staff to learn about our community and traditions are also incorporated into our day to day operations.
NNCEA currently has 47 houses which are rented out by teachers and other staff. NNCEA covers all utilities, maintenance, internet (star link or fiber optic), appliances, and furniture. The current rates of rent are: $300 per month (1 bedroom), $350 per month (2 bedroom), and $400 per month (3 bedroom). For staff wishing to commute from Thompson, NNCEA offers a shuttle for both schools!
Aside from our schools, Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation (NCN) also has a variety of amenities such as a local hockey arena, fitness centre, multiplex, nursing station, grocery store, wellness centre, and more. NCN is located approximately 75KM West of Thompson, MB.
